HESPERIA — A boil water advisory continues through the weekend for Hesperia village residents and businesses due to a water main break that occurred Monday, July 21.
“Due to a water main break, residents in the Village of Hesperia or who have their water supplied by the Village of Hesperia have an extended water boil advisory in effect for through the weekend or until further notice,” states a press release from the village. “Further testing is being done. Thank you for your patience in this matter.”
The boil water advisory is for water that is being consumed. The water is safe to bathe in. Water should be boiled for one minute minimum.
The village has conducted five tests, and results from three of those tests came back positive for bacteria in the water, said Village Clerk Vicki Burrell. Results from the other two tests are pending. “In order to release the water boil advisory, we have to have two consecutive negative bacteria results,” said Burrell.
The boil water advisory impacts approximately 400 households and businesses, said the clerk.
“We want everybody to be safe.”
