Village residents without water due to water main break

July 21, 2025

UPDATE: The village reported Monday afternoon that the water main was repaired, and the water tower is refilling.

HESPERIA — Village residents currently have no running water due to a water main break, Village Clerk Vicki Burrell stated Monday morning, July 21.

“It’s an active water main, so we don’t know when it’s going to be restored,” said Burrell. “There is an unmarked water main on the corner of M 120 and Cook Street. We’re in the middle of a $20 million water project, and they accidentally hit the water main. Everybody does not have water at this point. When the water does come back up, there will be a boil water notice. It will be a minimum of 48 hours, because we have to wait until we get two samples that are clear before the boil water notice is released and residents can drink the water.”

The water main break occurred early Monday morning.

The village issued the following press release:

“Due to a water main break, residents in the Village of Hesperia or who have their water supplied by the Village of Hesperia, may be experiencing low water pressure or may be without water. There is an active water boil advisory for the next 48 hours. Maintenance crews are working diligently to resolve this issue. Thank you for your patience in this matter.”

Updates will be provided when they are available.
