The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Wednesday, July 2, 2025:

  • 4:17 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 43-year-old New Era man was cited for second-offense driving while license revoked, Oceana Drive and Wilke Road, Grant Township.

Thursday, July 3, 2025:

  • 4:15 p.m., (OCSO), a 63-year-old Mears man was cited for driving while license suspended, North 56th Avenue near Deer Road, Golden Township.
  • 8:22 p.m., (OCSO), a 35-year-old Shelby man was arrested for bond violation and improper license plate, West Deer Road near 40th Avenue, Golden Township. Charges of methamphetamine possession and heroin possession are pending lab analyses of the substances. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 11:16 p.m., (OCSO), larceny of a gray Hiboy electric scooter valued at $400, Dune Town Camp-Resort (formerly Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park), Golden Township.

Friday, July 4, 2025:

  • 8 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 52-year-old Grand Rapids man was cited for driving while license suspended, Shelby Road, Shelby Township.
  • 11 p.m., (MSP), a 45-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a single-vehicle crash, Maple Island Road, Newfield Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Saturday, July 5, 2025:

  • 1:47 a.m., (OCSO), a 52-year-old Bitely man was arrested for domestic violence, River Rock Campground, Michigan Avenue, Village of Hesperia. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 11:43 a.m., (OCSO), a 43-year-old Grand Haven man was cited for driving while license revoked, northbound US 31 near Polk Road, Hart Township.

Sunday, July 6, 2025:

  • 12:34 a.m., (OCSO), a 21-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, South 186th Avenue and Garfield Road, Greenwood Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 12:15 p.m., (OCSO), a 19-year-old Hart man was cited for driving while license revoked, Main Street near Peach Street, City of Hart.
