Thief/thieves steal beer from campsites

HESPERIA — A thief or thieves stole multiple cases of beer from outdoor refrigerators at campsites at the River Rock Campground, at 155 W. Michigan Ave., according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The thefts were reported Saturday morning, June 7.

The following is other recent Oceana County Sheriff’s Office activity:

Tuesday, June 3, 2025:

  • 9:51 a.m., a 35-year-old Walkerville man was cited for second-offense driving while license suspended, 144th Avenue near Harrison Road, Elbridge Township.

Thursday, June 5, 2025:

  • 9:05 p.m., a 42-year-old Holland woman was cited for driving while license revoked, Hazel Road near Silver Lake Road, Golden Township.
  • 11:05 p.m., assault, 3600 block of North Lee’s Lane, Hart Township.

Friday, June 6, 2025:

  • 8:09 a.m., animal abuse, 8300 block of North Oceana Drive, Weare Township.
  • 3:23 p.m., larceny, 2100 block of North 56th Avenue, Golden Township.
  • 7:59 p.m., a 39-year-old Muskegon man was arrested for assault and battery and interfering with electronic communications, East Cleveland Road, Greenwood Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Saturday, June 7, 2025:

  • 4:45 p.m., a 64-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for aggravated assault for allegedly brandishing a knife and making threats toward a 57-year-old Hesperia man, Winter Street Apartments, Village of Hesperia. No one was injured. The suspect was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Sunday, June 8, 2025:

  • 3:47 a.m., a 26-year-old Lincoln Park, Michigan man was cited for second-offense driving while license suspended, Division Street near Church Street, Village of Hesperia.
  • 4:57 p.m., the sheriff’s office assisted Silver Lake State Park rangers with the arrest of a 20-year-old Cedar Springs man for operating while intoxicated, Silver Lake State Park, Golden Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 7:26 p.m., a 31-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for domestic violence, 200 block of McLaren Lake Road, Village of Hesperia. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
