Mildred K. Beard, 98, of Pentwater went to heaven on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 with her son and caregiver for the last 16 years at her bedside. Mildred was born on September 20, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Carl and Ella (Wehmus) Wigren. On August 17, 1951 she married Robert Beard in Ludington and they celebrated 57 years together until Robert preceded her in death in 2008. Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ella; her son Randall Beard in 2020; four sisters and two brothers.
Mildred was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington and was a devoted wife and mother.
Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her son Steven Beard of Pentwater; her daughter Joni Petersen of Ludington; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial has taken place next to her beloved Robert at Pentwater Cemetery.
