Carolyn Sue Hood, 73, of Ludington, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 2, 1951, in Jackson to Alvin and Louise (Robins) Mackey.

Carolyn was known for her generous heart, hardworking spirit, and unmatched talent in crafting. If you knew her, you likely received a handmade gift – whether it was a crocheted hat or a delicate bracelet. She poured love into every creation and took joy in sharing them with others. Carolyn deeply loved her family and friends. She was always there when someone needed a helping hand, always kind and dependable. She was also a dedicated and committed worker, known for showing up with a strong work ethic and a warm smile.

Carolyn cherished the simple beauty in life, with sunsets holding a special place in her heart and she often enjoyed watching them with her beloved niece Norma. She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity. Carolyn will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Carolyn is survived by: her children, Ashley Hood, Andrea (Timothy) Simon, and Kimberly Mackey; grandchildren, Ryan Malburg II, Derek Malburg, Aja Tate, Nicholas Simon, Kylee Hood, Chase Simon, Hans Mackey-Fairchild, Ayden Hood, Alehxis Mackey, and Zoey Hood; siblings, Dianna Best, Denise (Chuck) Bradshaw, Alan (Rhonda) Mackey, and Patty (Charles) Bowman; and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Linda Wilkes; and beloved granddaughter.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Prayer and Praise Assembly of God, 509 N Staffon Street, Ludington. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
