Brothers allegedly attack brother with screwdriver

GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP — A pair of brothers face felony charges after allegedly attacking their brother with a screwdriver on Memorial Day, May 26, according to Sgt. Michael Cuevas of the Michigan State Police, Hart post.

Simon Gabriel Saldana, 33, is charged with assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence, according to court records. Rogelio Noel Saldana, 35, is charged with assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred at 9:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Garfield Road in Greenwood Township, said Sgt. Cuevas.

“It started over a family argument,” he said. 

The victim, who received puncture wounds, refused medical treatment. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the incident, said the sergeant. It was not immediately clear if more than one screwdriver was allegedly used in the assault.

Both men were arrested and lodged in the Oceana County Jail. They are both scheduled to appear in Oceana County’s 79th District Court for preliminary exams June 17 at 1 p.m.
