Man could face felonious assault charge for chasing another man with knife

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A felonious assault charge against a 68-year-old Rothbury man is being sent to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review after a 68-year-old Rothbury man “ran after a 51-year-old Whitehall man with a knife” on Driftwood Drive in the Oceana Shores subdivision Monday, May 12, said Sgt. Michael Cuevas of the Michigan State Police, Hart post.

The suspect was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and transporting open intoxicants. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

• 10:30 a.m., a 61-year-old Rothbury man was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs, Dollar General store, Village of Rothbury. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
• 1:45 p.m., a 58-year-old Shelby man was cited for operating without a license, Arthur Road and 120th Avenue, Otto Township.

Monday, May 4, 2025:

• 4 p.m., a 29-year-old Shelby man was cited for operating without insurance, US 31 and 66th Avenue, Shelby Township.

Tuesday, May 5, 2025:

• 8:45 p.m., a 23-year-old Detroit man was cited for operating without a license, US 31 and M 20, Shelby Township.

Wednesday, May 6, 2025:

• 7:15 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was apprehended following a domestic assault, 3300 block of Webster Road, Grant Township.

Thursday, May 8, 2025:

• 2:30 p.m., check fraud, Wilson’s General Store, Golden Township.

Tuesday, May 13, 2025:

• 5 p.m., a 47-year-old Muskegon Heights woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants, US 31, Shelby Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Thursday, May 15, 2025:

• 8:50 a.m., check fraud, 3000 block of Garfield Road, Village of New Era.
