ROTHBURY — The cause of Electric Forest Festival attendee Kevin Graves’ 2018 death may forever remain an enigma.

According to an article published on Mlive by Gus Burns, Graves’ cause of death was ruled “undetermined after investigation and anthropology studies,” pursuant to the April 7 death certificate.

Graves’ death investigation concluded earlier this month, according to Lisa Kapriak, a representative for the Oceana County medical examiner.

“They ran a full anthropology study and nothing came up,” Kapriak said. “There was no trauma that was evident.”

Mlive reached out to Kevin’s parents, Kathy and Gary Graves, who said they are left wishing they had more answers.

Michigan State Police detectives confirmed that the human remains found Dec. 30, 2024 near the Electric Forest Festival grounds were Kevin Graves. The 28-year-old Oakland County man had been missing for six and a half years.

The young man’s death has been shrouded in mystery and speculation all these years, and it may be forever.

OCP left a message at the Oceana County Medical Examiner’s Office Wednesday morning April 30, but has not yet heard back.
