HART — Hart High School is hosting the Second Annual Troy Moran Tractor Day Parade Thursday, April 24, at 9 a.m.
“Last year, Troy Moran encouraged our leadership class at HHS to create an Ag Week to really celebrate and bring attention to area farms and agricultural businesses,” said teacher Kirstie DeVries, who is organizing the event in memory of the Hart High School principal who died one year ago.

The school has hosted a “Drive your Tractor to School Day” for many years each spring in celebration of Hart’s agricultural heritage. “We wanted to expand,” said DeVries.
“Last spring, the leadership class put on its first ever Tractor Day event, and this year, we have plans to make it even bigger with a speaker coming in; 4-H students holding a little ‘informational fair’ in our aux gymnasium in the afternoon; and a scholarship being offered to seniors in honor of Mr. Moran.”
The day kicks off with the tractor parade involving students, local farmers and community members. The parade route will begin in the soccer field parking lot and proceed through the school drive.
“Our students will park their tractors in the high school parking lot near the area that leads up to the football field, and then we have high schoolers who will be there to run little stations for the elementary students who come over to see the tractors, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.”
The day’s events are designed, so all students have “a balance of fun while also learning new things about agriculture.”
