West Shore School News is a presentation of West Shore Educational Service District in partnership with Mason County Press and Oceana County Press.
Shelby High School band students Joselyn Calixto Sanchez, Juan Ramirez and Michael Neino qualified for state solo and ensemble for their topnotch performances at the district competition in Cadillac.
They competed in the state event, March 15, in Kingsley. “Juan and Michael also were evaluated on scales and sight reading,” said Shelby Band Director Erin Ray. “Juan received a score of 80, and Michael received a score of 77. It was a fun day full of laughs and music — great job Tigers!”
