HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:
- David Alan Worth, 40, of Mears, pleaded guilty Dec. 3 to second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Feb. 11 to five days in jail with credit for three days served; Alcoholic Anonymous twice a week; six months probation; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
- Alexander James Lopez, 34, of Hart, pleaded “no contest” Feb. 25 to attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; six months probation; and $510 in fines and costs. Charges of trespassing and malicious destruction of property $200-$1,000 were dismissed.
- Terry Clyde Sherman, 34, of Warren, Michigan, pleaded “no contest” Feb. 25 to two counts of assault and battery and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served and $675 in fines and costs. Two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon were dismissed.
- Jesse Grant Cole, 46, of Walkerville, pleaded guilty Feb. 26 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $200 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Leonard Richard Burch, Jr., 52, of Mears, pleaded guilty Feb. 25 to DWLS and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
Dismissal
- Devon Izac Matthew Smith, 28, of Montague; one count of larceny less than $200 was dismissed Feb. 25.
