Man arrested for third-offense domestic violence

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 42-year-old New Era man was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies for a felony of third-offense domestic violence in the 5600 block of Oceana Drive Saturday, Feb. 8, at midnight, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. A 39-year-old female victim was taken to Trinity Health Shelby Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the assault. The suspect was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

The following is other recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:

Monday, Feb. 3, 2025:

  • 5:32 p.m., a 35-year-old Shelby man was arrested for second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS), Stony Lake Road near 68th Avenue, Shelby Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 10:22 p.m., a 42-year-old Twin Lake man was cited for DWLS, Skeels Road near 168th Avenue, Greenwood Township.

Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025:

  • 1:58 a.m., a 34-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for second-offense DWLS, and a 36-year-old Hesperia woman was cited for allowing a suspended person to operate, South Division Street, Village of Hesperia. The man was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 4:24 p.m., larceny, 3200 block of South Foster Street, Ferry Township. A camper mattress valued at $50 and two surveillance cameras valued at $200 each were stolen.

Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025:

  • 12:17 p.m., various tools were stolen during a breaking and entering to a shipping container, East Roosevelt Road near 128th Avenue, Otto Township. Some of the stolen items were recovered.

Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025:

  • 7:51 p.m., domestic violence, no arrest, southbound US 31 near Winston Road, Grant Township.

Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025:

  • 11:02 p.m., a 55-year-old Holton man was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while license revoked, 5500 block of East Skeels Road, Greenwood Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
