Beatrice Hipley
Beatrice Marie Hipley, 93, of Pentwater, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born January 3, 1932, the daughter of Charles and Vivian Terryn. On October 21, 1950 she married Donald Jerome Hipley who preceded her in death on July 21, 2011.
Beatrice spent most of her life self employed cleaning cottages on the shores of Lake Michigan, and caring for others. She was very proud of her Pentwater community, and was an active member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, serving in the Altar Society. In her spare time, Beatrice enjoyed cooking, baking, making cordial, keeping things tidy and clean, and searching out wildflowers in the ditches throughout the county to create beautiful bouquets for her home and the church altar. Beatrice’s favorite time, however, was gathering her family together to share a homemade meal at her home.
Beatrice is survived by: her daughter, Kristy (Ken) Adams of Pentwater; her daughter, Kathy Hood of Kalamazoo; her grandchildren, Angela (Patrick) Taylor, Jaime (Lee) Lindsay, Joshua (Nikki) Adams, and Jake Adams; her great-granddaughter, Aurbrie Adams; great-grandsons, Landon Lindsay, Brody Lindsay, and Grayson Adams; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Donna Terryn.
Beatrice’s additional family members preceding her in death were: her brothers: Gordon Terryn, Robert Terryn, and Willis ‘Willy’ Terryn; sister, Ann Louise (Stewart) Terryn; and son-in-law, David Hood.
