LANSING — State Rep. Curt VanderWall (R-Ludington) has been elected to serve as an associate speaker pro tempore of the Michigan House of Representatives for the 2025-26 legislative session.

“I am honored to be selected by my peers to assume this leadership role,” VanderWall said. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside them to advance policies that matter to Michigan residents.”

In his role, Rep. VanderWall will assist in presiding over House sessions, maintaining order during debates, and ensuring legislative procedures are followed efficiently.

VanderWall said throughout his tenure he has been a strong advocate for key issues related to health policy, child care and agriculture.
