Hart Winterfest set for Feb. 1

January 22, 2025

HART – The snow is piling up, and the annual Hart Winterfest set for Saturday Feb. 1 will offer a day piled with fun and exciting events for all ages.

Winterfest will pack in several cold weather activities, including a vintage snowmobile show and swap meet, a soup walk, an outdoor corn hole tournament, a scavenger hunt and more.

Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swap Meet
Winter enthusiasts can enjoy a unique display of snowmobiles featuring rear engines at the Oceana County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Snowmobile owners are encouraged to sign up to display their vintage sleds, or simply come by to enjoy the show and swap parts. For those traveling by snowmobile, the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail offers direct access to the event.

Soup Crawl
Warm up with the Soup Crawl, which will take place in downtown Hart. For just $7 per person (with advance ticket purchase), participants can sample soups at 12 different stops around town. Participants are encouraged to vote for their three favorite soups to help determine this year’s People Choice award. It’s a perfect way to taste the flavors of Hart while exploring local shops.

New Outdoor Corn Hole Tournament
Get ready for some friendly competition at the Outdoor Corn Hole Tournament, which is new this year. It will take place in the parking lot next to La Probadita starting at 1:30 p.m. With 16 teams in a single-elimination format, teams of two players can sign up for $35 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place

Winterfest Scavenger Hunt
Download the Winterfest Scavenger Hunt app and complete a series of fun challenges throughout the event to be entered for a chance to win one of five $25 gift certificates to a local business.

Winterfest Chalets
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., shop six new vendors selling handmade goods and crafts at the Main Street Market chalets next to Hart Commons.

Book and Bake Sale at Hart City Hall
The Friends of the Hart Public Library will host a Book and Bake Sale at the Community Center in Hart City Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. While you’re there, be sure to take part in Take Your Child to the Library Day, where families can enjoy free fun activities at the library.

Winter Golf Outing
The fun continues with the Winter Golf Outing the following Saturday, Feb. 8 — a unique winter event at the Hart BioPure Field on Polk Road. Teams of two to four players can register to play using tennis balls instead of golf balls in the snow and winter weather. The event will feature prizes, a raffle, hot dogs, chili, music and a bonfire. The cost is $35 per player. Hole sponsors are needed. Support local art and help fund Art in Hart by sponsoring a hole for $150.
