Traffic stops lead to pending meth, heroin, cocaine charges

OCEANA COUNTY — Three separate traffic stops by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office so far this week have led to pending drug possession charges.

The first traffic stop occurred Monday, Jan. 6, at 10:47 a.m. in the 2400 block of Meadow Lane in Grant Township. A 26-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A substance believed to be methamphetamine was confiscated and sent to the Michigan State Police crime lab for analysis, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. The woman was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

A traffic stop Monday at 10:17 p.m. in the 300 block of South Division Street in the Village of Hesperia led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Spring Lake man wanted on outstanding warrants and charged with second-offense driving while license suspended and improper license plate, said Sheriff Mast. A substance believed to be heroin was confiscated and sent to the crime lab for analysis. The man was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

A third traffic stop Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 12:35 a.m. on Polk Road near 84th Avenue in Hart Township resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old Ludington woman charged with operating while intoxicated, said the sheriff. A substance believed to be cocaine was confiscated and sent to the crime lab for analysis. The woman was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
