SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mason County — A Go Fund Me page has been set up for the family of a 35-year-old Pentwater woman who was tragically killed on US 31 while trying to help other motorists involved in a crash on US 31 Wednesday evening, Nov. 20.
Latoya Marie Smith was hit by a pickup truck north of Meisenheimer Road.
According to the Go fund Me page, Smith was the mother of two children.
“Hello everyone, I am starting this GoFundMe for a recently passed family member,” writes organizer Justin Hannaman. “My uncle lost his significant other of 18 years to a terrible car accident while trying to assist another motorist. This tragedy has stricken all of our hearts deeply; we are asking for any assistance towards the funeral cost, and any help you can provide to her children and loved ones. We are grateful for any support you can send.”
