Police seek warrant for fleeing suspect

GRANT TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a warrant for 33-year-old Twin Lake man who led deputies on a high-speed chase Thursday, Nov. 7, shortly before 7:30 p.m. that began on South 88th Avenue near Clay Road, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The suspect, who is wanted on outstanding warrants, has been identified after allegedly fleeing and eluding police during a seven-minute pursuit that ended with the man crashing his pickup truck into a road sign and running into the woods.

The following is other recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024:

  • 7:35 a.m., a 34-year-old Hesperia man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), McLaren Street, Village of Hesperia.

Friday, Nov. 8, 2024:

  • 2:27 a.m., a 28-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, unregistered firearm and other DNR violations, 3100 block of East Arthur Road, Otto Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 10:46 a.m., a felony charge of methamphetamine possession against a 62-year-old Walkerville man is pending lab analysis results, 144th Avenue, Elbridge Township. 

Monday, Nov. 11, 2024:

  • 2:03 p.m., a 32-year-old New Era man was arrested on outstanding warrants, and a 38-year-old New Era woman was arrested for harboring a fugitive, 1900 block of West Garfield Road, Grant Township. They were lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
