PENTWATER TOWNSHIP — An autopsy has been performed on an unidentified man’s body that washed up on the Lake Michigan Shore Friday morning, Nov. 8, according to Michigan State Police Cadet Dante Williams of the Hart post.

Police do not suspect foul play.

Investigators are going through dental verification to identify the “John Doe” that washed ashore, said Cadet Williams Tuesday, Nov. 12. The autopsy was performed Saturday, Nov. 9, in Kalamazoo, he said.

“No identification was located on the remains, and detectives are working to identify this individual,” states an MSP press release posted Friday on X, formerly Twitter. “Foul play is not suspected at this time as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MSP Hart post at 231-873-2171.”

A 911 call came in around 11 a.m. from North Timbershores Drive that an “object, possibly a body washed up on shore,” said the 911 dispatcher.

Life EMS and Pentwater Fire Department were dispatched to the scene as well as the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

Dispatch information indicated the body was clothed in blue clothing.
