Foul play not suspected

PENTWATER TOWNSHIP — Detectives and troopers from the Michigan State Police, Hart post, are investigating the grisly discovery of a dead body that washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan Friday, Nov. 8, according to Sgt. Dan Thomas.
“The Michigan State Police, Hart post, is conducting a death investigation involving an individual that was recovered on the shore of Lake Michigan near Pentwater this morning,” states an MSP press release on X, formerly Twitter.
“No identification was located on the remains, and detectives are working to identify this individual,” states the press release. “Foul play is not suspected at this time as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MSP Hart post at 231-873-2171.”
A 911 call came in around 11 a.m. from North Timbershores Drive that an “object, possibly a body washed up on shore,” said the 911 dispatcher.
Life EMS and Pentwater Fire Department were dispatched to the scene as well as the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.
Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast confirmed that the body was an adult man. Dispatch information indicated it was clothed in blue clothing.
“They’re still out there actively working the scene,” said Sgt. Thomas.
