NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for felonious assault Saturday, Nov. 2, shortly after 6 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Maple Island Road, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The suspect may have brandished an “edged weapon,” said Sheriff Mast. No one was injured. The suspect was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Monday, Oct. 28, 2024:
- 11:15 a.m., a 35-year-old Walkerville man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), South Street, Village of Hesperia.
- 1:30 p.m., malicious destruction of property, Shelby Township Park, Buchanan Road, Shelby Township.
Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024:
- 1:32 p.m., assault, 8800 block of North 80th Avenue, Weare Township.
- 3:41 p.m., unauthorized use of a vehicle, 7500 block of South 80th Avenue, Grant Township.
- 9:53 p.m., a 34-year-old Hart man was arrested for child endangerment — operating while intoxicated with a passenger under 16 — and reckless driving, East Tyler Road near 120th Avenue, Elbridge Township. The passenger was a 6-year-old girl. The man was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Friday, Nov. 1, 2024:
- 3:04 p.m., a 44-year-old Hart man was arrested for driving while license revoked, North Hamon Street, Village of Walkerville. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024
- 3:33 p.m., a 33-year-old Muskegon man was cited for driving while license revoked, East Skeels Road near 200th Avenue, Greenwood Township.
Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024:
- 3:39 a.m., a 36-year-old Montague woman was cited for operating without insurance and open intoxicants, and a methamphetamine possession charge is pending lab analysis of the substance against a 41-year-old Rothbury man.
