HART — Oceana County’s 51st Circuit courtroom was packed with well wishers Friday afternoon, Oct. 25, in celebration of the retirement of Probate Judge Bradley G. Lambrix.

Lambrix, who has served 18 years on the bench, retires at the end of the year. He was the Oceana County assistant prosecuting attorney for 18 years prior — totaling 36 years of service to the county.

Many hugs and laughs were shared while honoring the judge who is well known for his friendly personality. Speakers included: Friend of the Court Custody/Parenting Time Investigator Becky Cole, Circuit Court Administrator Tonya Selig, Regional Administrator for Region III, Michigan Supreme Court – State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) Nick Wood, Retired Oceana County Circuit Court Judge Anthony A. Monton and Muskegon County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jeremy Lambrix, who is Judge Lambrix’s son.

“If he walked into a room with 25 strangers, he would walk out with 25 friends,” said Monton.

Lambrix’s replacement will be determined in the Nov. 5 election. Attorney Eric Fox and attorney Anna Rapa, who is a referee for 51st Circuit Court, are vying for the position.
