LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — A 31-year-old homeless man was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies after allegedly fleeing from police on a stolen motorcycle on East Fillmore Road Sunday, Oct. 20, shortly after 4 p.m., said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The man was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding police and possession of stolen property and faces a charge of methamphetamine possession. He also is a suspect in a breaking and entering reported in the 700 block of North 204th Avenue just before 1 p.m. Sunday, said Mast. Charges are pending in the break-in, which was recorded by a security camera.
He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

- 1:37 p.m., (MSP), a 59-year-old New Era man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, Wesco store, Village of New Era. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024:
- 12:02 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 20-year-old Ottawa, Illinois woman was arrested for trespassing and assault and battery, 8800 block of East Roosevelt Road, Greenwood Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 1:35 p.m., (OCSO), malicious destruction of property, a wire harness and connector were damaged, 4300 block of West Monroe Road, Weare Township.
Monday, Oct. 21, 2024:
- 2:23 p.m., gas drive-off, Hesperia Mobil gas station, Village of Hesperia.
