Obituary: Kenneth John Compton, 74, of Hart

Kenneth John Compton, 74, of Hart, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born April 8, 1950, in Flint, the son of Mick and Jeannie (Laird) Compton.

Ken met the love of his life, also lovingly referred to as ‘my bride’ and ‘my goddess’, Clarice, at Lange Transportation, where he was employed as a truck driver and Clarice was his dispatcher.

Ken found his purpose in providing care and help to others. He was a registered nurse, having been employed with the former Memorial Medical Hospital in Ludington, as well as Trinity Health and travel nursing agencies; specializing in ER and ICU. Ken also volunteered during many hurricanes and natural disasters, including in Thailand and Haiti, and was very active in volunteering with Team Rubicon.

Ken was also active in his local community, providing volunteering through firefighting and work with Habitat for Humanity. He was truly always willing to help the greater good.

Ken is survived by: his loving wife, Clarice Compton; his son, Kenneth (Michelle) Compton; granddaughters, Gabrielle and Abigail Compton; sister, Marlene (John) Pilon; brother, Jim (Teresa) Compton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by: his parents, Mick and Jeannie Compton; along with his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Shirley Compton.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later time.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
