Obituary: Brenda Blamer, 63, of Pentwater

September 24, 2024

Brenda (Bateson) Blamer went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, September 23, 2024.  Born June 22, 1961 to Donald and Coral Bateson, Brenda grew up in a tight-knit family alongside her sisters—Tina, LuAnn, and Leah—full of love and laughter.

A proud graduate of Pentwater High School, Brenda was a talented musician, playing the saxophone in the high school band and serving as a majorette in her junior and senior years. She was also an enthusiastic athlete, excelling in basketball, and softball. Brenda’s passion for life carried over into her professional career. After high school, she worked at Direct Advertising, eventually becoming the owner, and dedicated 43 years to the company she helped build.

In 1981, Brenda became engaged to Lindsay Blamer, the love of her life. The couple married in 1982 and spent 42 wonderful years together, building a beautiful family and a life filled with joy and adventure. Brenda cherished every moment spent outdoors, whether cross-country skiing in the winter or tending to her flowers in the summer. She found peace in nature, watching birds and butterflies dance in the breeze, and listening to the soft music of her wind chimes. Above all, Brenda treasured her time with family, especially camping, canoeing, and family reunions.

Brenda was the loving mother of three children: Brittany, Brooke, and Brandon. She welcomed Brittany’s husband, Kyle, and Brandon’s wife, Megan, into the family with open arms. Brenda was also a devoted grandmother to her two granddaughters, Elliot and Penelope and excitedly awaited the arrival of another granddaughter.

Brenda is survived by: her husband, Lindsay; her three children, Brittany (Kyle) Cameron, Brooke Blamer, and Brandon (Megan) Blamer; her parents, Don and Coral Bateson; her sisters, Tina Gilles, LuAnn (Rick) Prins, and Leah (Michael) Holmes; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Brenda’s warmth, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of nature she cherished so dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Weare Catholic Church, 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart with Fr. Phil Sliwinski presiding.
