Obituary: David Doyle Roach, Jr., 70, of Hart

David Doyle Roach, Jr., 70, of Hart, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Shelby. Born on October 4, 1953, David graduated from Hesperia High School in 1972 and soon began a long career at Oceana Canning Company, where he worked diligently from the age of 18 until his retirement in July of 2007.
David had a passion for reading and was an avid coin collector. He also cherished his vacation trips to the Upper Peninsula, a place he held dear throughout his life.
David is survived by his loving family: his daughter, Melissa Lynn Purdy and grandchildren Anna Renee Purdy, David James Eli Purdy; his son Taylor David Roach and girlfriend Nichole Lee McQuate and grandchildren Kenneth Eugene Carr, Jr., Keegan Elijah-Paul Carr, and girlfriend Jenna Lynn Douglas, Conan Prescott Carr, Alanna Faith Roach, Zorin Triton Cramer, Zuria Jo Story McQuate, and Jaxon David Roach; and great-granddaughter Graycelynn Joyce Carr. Sister, Carrie Lynn (Mike) Burdick; Brother William Claude (Susan) Roach; and cousin, Bruce Edward Pierce, who was like a brother to him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee Louise (Vandyk) Roach; his father David Doyle Roach; his mother Dorothy Jane (Pierce) Roach; and son-in-law David Paul Purdy.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at West Hesperia Cemetery at 11 a.m. With a lunch to follow at Melissa’s. David’s life will be commemorated in the presence of his family and friends and those who knew him best. His memory will continue to live on through the many  lives he touched.
Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Wyman Funeral and Cremation Services in Scottville.
