79th District Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:

  • Tyler Matthew Laninga, 27, of 2404 Grant St., Baldwin, pleaded guilty Aug. 6, 2024 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year probation; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
  • Trayce Robert Tate, 20, of 1150 N. 116th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty July 23 to second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days served; one year probation; forfeiture of firearm; must not possess/consume alcohol for one year; must not possess or use illegal substances including marijuana; attend inpatient program; and $1,255 in fines and costs. One count of possession of firearms under the influence was dismissed.
  • Sierra Topaz Goods, 39, of 615 Ivory St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty Aug. 13, 2024 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Christopher James Gebhart, 49, of 560 N. 52nd Ave., Mears, pleaded guilty July 23, 2024 to attempted fleeing and eluding a police officer and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer and operating an ORV on a right-of-way were dismissed.
  • Kenneth Edward Field, 32, of 2 W. Main St., Hart, pleaded guilty Aug. 6, 2024 to retail fraud and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served and $300 in fines and costs. A charge of retail fraud in a separate case was dismissed.
  • Dean Comrade McCallum, 44, of 5087 Holton Rd., Holton, pleaded guilty to transporting open intoxicants Aug. 6, 2024 and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. A second count of transporting open intoxicants and one count of operating without a license were dismissed.
  • Gregory John Nelson, 54, of 3688 S. 140th Ave., Hesperia, pleaded “no contest” July 16, 2024 to breaking and entering — illegal entry and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs.
  • Nathaniel Micheal Bolley, 20, of 2123 Bourdin St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty to operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); Victims’ Impact Panel; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
  • Lisa Marie Gillespie, 45, of 409 E. Church St., Hart, pleaded “no contest” to illegal entry May 15, 2024 and was sentenced July 16, 2024 to 61 days in jail with credit for 19 days served. Her probation is revoked.
  • Hipolito Salais, 55, of 6107 Eilers Rd., Montague, pleaded guilty July 3, 2024 to operating while impaired and was sentenced to $1,065 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
  • Jeffrey Wayne Shafer, 49, of 5823 N. 192nd Ave., Walkerville, pleaded guilty to DWLS and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Roxanne Nicole Rocha, 24 of 6969 N. 126th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty Aug. 2 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. 
  • Sara Anne Grant, 47, of 4609 N. Ridge Rd., Mears, pleaded guilty July 23 to operating while impaired and was sentenced to six months probation and $1,055 in fines and costs. She may leave the state to attend counseling in California, court records state. Conviction reportable to SOS. One felony count of unlawful driving away of an automobile/car theft was dismissed.
  • Aiden Caleb Frost, 20, of 1005 Washington Ave., Muskegon, pleaded guilty July 23 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; AHSE; Victims’ Impact Panel; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. 
  • MacKenzie David Quillen, 41, of 723 E. Filer St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 23 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. One count of failure to stop after an accident was dismissed. 

Dismissal

  • Paul Michael Irey, 45, of 608 Woodlawn Court, Hart, one felony count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder was dismissed July 23.
