LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of an E-Z-GO brand golf cart valued at $2,000.
The golf cart was reported stolen from the 4400 block of North 198th Avenue. It is green in color with a tan seat and a wooden tailgate.
If anyone has information about the theft, they should call the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at 231-873-2121.

Monday, July 29, 2024:
- 3:15 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), cocaine possession, 88th Avenue near Winston Road, Grant Township. A criminal charge against a 28-year-old Rothbury man is pending lab analysis of the substance.
- 4:07 p.m., (OCSO), cocaine possession, northbound US 31 near Shelby Road, Shelby Township. A criminal charge against a 39-year-old Muskegon man is pending lab analysis of the substance.
Tuesday, July 30, 2024:
- 2 p.m., (Michigan State Police) tractor accident causing injury, Eagle Road, Weare Township. The tractor rolled on top of the victim. No other information was available.
Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024:
- 9:20 p.m., (OCSO), domestic violence, no arrest, 5700 block of West Sixth Street, Golden Township.
Friday, Aug. 2, 2024:
- 9:46 a.m., (OCSO), a retail fraud of a handbag valued at $12.50, Dollar General, Village of Shelby. A 33-year-old Hart woman has been identified as a suspect.
- 6:40 p.m., (OCSO), assault, 5700 block of West Sixth Street, Golden Township. A 33-year-old Mears man is a suspect in the case.
Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024:
- 5:56 a.m., (OCSO), a 52-year-old White Cloud man was arrested on a warrant on charges of failure to appear and driving while license revoked and was charged with second-offense driving while license revoked, East M 20 near 120th Avenue, Ferry Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024:
- 2:13 p.m., (OCSO), a 50-year-old Mears man was arrested for unlawful driving away of an automobile/car theft and driving while license revoked, 2100 block of North 56th Avenue, Golden Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail. The stolen vehicle, which was a 2006 Kia Optima valued at $1,500, was recovered.
