PENTWATER — After a deer ran out onto Ridge Road near 48th Avenue and hit a 2018 Chevrolet Trax, it bounced off the SUV and hit two bicyclists Friday, July 5, around 4 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The SUV, driven by a 64-year-old Pentwater woman, was northbound when the deer ran out and struck it, causing damage.
“The deer came off the vehicle and hit two bicyclists,” states the report. “They were injured from the deer.” The SUV did not hit the bikes.
The bicyclists, who were a 13-year-old Allegan boy and a 47-year-old Allegan woman, received minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Life EMS, according to the report. They were both were wearing helmets.
