GRAND RAPIDS — A 16-year-old Hart boy who was injured in a crash with a vehicle while riding a moped remains in critical condition at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, according to a Go Fund Me page set up to support his family.

Hunter Stayner was airlifted following the crash that occurred Monday night, June 24, shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of West Tyler Road and 72nd Avenue in Hart Township. “Emergency crews found a 16-year-old Hart resident unresponsive from the crash,” stated Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“The night he got to DeVos they did surgery on his eye, and on Tuesday, he had surgery to fix his femur,” states the Go Fund Me page. “He’s currently sedated and on a breathing tube until further notice. Because of everything he’s going through, Hunter will probably be in DeVos for a couple of months even after he wakes up. Our dad, Jason, usually works to support the family at home and is currently out of work to be with Hunter. Our mom is also there to be by his side as well. Any donations will help to support them at this time with gas, food, medical bills, etc. We appreciate any donations and your support. It means a lot to our whole family. “
