Sinclair
HART — A 54-year-old Mears man was sentenced to six months in jail in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, June 24, for a conviction of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is a high-court misdemeanor.
A jury rendered a guilty verdict for Max Allen Sinclair, of 2214 N. Cousineau Ave., following a trial, May 8.
Sinclair sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy at a gym in Hart last October, said Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Bizon. “CSC 4 is the sexual touching of another. The variable applied in this case is that the victim was 15. But this was not consensual.”
The jury deliberated for an hour and 22 minutes, said Bizon.
Sinclair was also ordered by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski to five years probation. He received credit for 46 days served in jail.
Sinclair must also register as a sex offender.
