Milton “Bubba” John DeCheney Jr., 50, of Hesperia, passed away June 8, 2024. Bubba was born June 4, 1974, to Janet Jones and Milton DeCheney Sr. in Hart, Michigan.
Bubba loved NASCAR and never missed watching the race. He was a huge fan of Jeff Gordon (#24). He also loved watching professional wrestling and the Detroit Tigers.
Bubba is survived by: his mother, Janet Jones of Hesperia; sisters, Wendy Lash (Muskegon) and Lorena Anderson (Hart); brothers, John Jones and Lonnie Jones (both of Muskegon); his nephews and nieces; John Jones and his partner Liz Tompkins (Grand Rapids), Tricia Parks (N. Muskegon), Chris and Leah Parks (Hesperia), Ashley Miller and her fiancé Harris Klingenberg (Zeeland), Brittany Archambault (Ravenna), and Robert Jones (Hesperia); as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews, Beckham, Brynleigh, Nora, Ethan, and Owen; and several lifelong friends.
Bubba was proceeded in death by: his fiancé, Tina Clark, his dad, John “Jack” Jones; biological father, Milton Sr.; and his beloved dog, Susie.
Bubba was also the life of every family gathering. He was the teller of jokes, the singer of songs, and the catalyst for hearty laughter.
His personal journey wasn’t without challenges. Bubba had his fair share of struggles and moments when life seemed to test his strength and resolve, but in facing those trials, he demonstrated an admirable level of resilience that made us all proud. He showed us that struggles are the steppingstones to strength; another lesson among many that we will carry through life.
Bubba will always be remembered for his big heart, humor, and wit. He will forever be the world’s greatest uncle.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM, Wednesday, June, 19, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Hesperia Chapel, 61 Hawley Street, Hesperia, MI 49421, with interment to follow in the West Hesperia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Bubba’s funeral fund to assist with expenses. A GoFundMe me has been set up to help to assist with expenses, or you are able to contact the funeral home to assist.
