Employment: Mason County Rural Fire Authority Administrator

The Mason County Rural Fire Authority was formed in 1995 and comprises of seven fire stations covering 13 townships, three villages, and one city. It covers approximately 400 square miles. The Authority has over 100 paid-on-call volunteers with over 36 response vehicles to serve approximately 14,000 residents.

Full time position: $42,000 annual salary. Currently no additional benefits.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in the firefighting / medical field is required.
• Administrative experience and computer skills are required.
• Knowledge, experience, and basic certifications in ICS
• A valid Michigan State driver’s license applicant must submit a 3-year driving abstract at the time of hire.
• Must be able to take calls from Station Officers and Board Members outside of regular business hours.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal conviction and local background check.
