PENTWATER — Nine Pentwater High School seniors recently received scholarships from the Pentwater Women’s Club during the school’s honor night.
The Pentwater Women’s Club commitment to education formally began in 1967 with the awarding of the first scholarship. Over the past 57 years, the club has awarded 211 scholarships to qualifying Pentwater High School graduating seniors. The club also supports an annual scholarship at West Shore Community College for a returning female student. The club allocated $16,000 total in 2024 for the student scholarships and the WSCC scholarship.
Major fundraising for the scholarship fund comes from profits of two sponsored annual events — the Wine & Art Event and the Quilt Raffle.
