Hart to have half day Thursday for Principal Moran’s funeral

HART — Hart Public Schools announced that Thursday, May 2, will be a half day of school, so students and staff can attend the funeral of Hart High School Principal Troy Moran who died unexpectedly Saturday, April 27.
The school district posted the following message on its Facebook page Tuesday, April 30:
“Dear Pirate Nation,
Hart Public Schools will have a half day this Thursday, May 2, to give staff and students the opportunity to attend the funeral of our beloved high school principal, Troy Moran. School will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and no lunch will be served.
“The visitation will be at 3 p.m., and the funeral will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at Shelby Road Baptist Church, located at 4066 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, Michigan. The Moran family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to Mr. Moran’s Ride for Pride Program. Any further updates will be shared on our Hart Public Schools Facebook page as we receive them. Thank you for being understanding as we navigate this difficult time.
