HART — The Hart High School Drama Club presents the humorous whodunit Clue this weekend in the Hart Public Schools Auditorium located in the middle school.
Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27, at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee, April 28, at 2 p.m.
“A talented group of ninth through 12th graders embarked on this production back in January,” said Hart Public Schools Drama Adviser Suzanne VanderZanden. “The acting team was led in large part by Phil DeBrot (of the school district’s technology team) and Kaija Luusua, a local actress and graduate of Ludington High School and Central Michigan University. Phil and Kaija were assisted by student directors, Carson Jensen and Zoey Brown.”
VanderZanden is also part of the team, recently resuming a co-directing role with Luusua to assist the cast and crew with putting together the final touches to this funny high school edition of Clue.
Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave you in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!
Audience members can pick up a Clue game board at participating local businesses. Get all characters stamped by visiting the businesses listed on the game board and turn it in on the day of the show for a chance to win a gift bag filled with gift cards and treats.
The show contains adult humor and content, including loud noises, weapons use, gun shots and reference to sexuality. Parental discretion is advised. It is recommended for audiences age 13 and older.
