Monroe/Longbridge intersection closed until May 17

April 18, 2024

PENTWATER — The intersection of Monroe and Longbridge roads will remain closed for about one month so DTE Energy can replace natural gas pipelines, according to a DTE press release.

“DTE is modernizing our natural gas infrastructure to ensure the continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas in the Pentwater area by replacing approximately 6,000 feet of natural gas pipelines and other infrastructure this spring.

“A road closure at the intersection of Monroe Road and Longbridge Road will be in effect for about four weeks, starting the week of April 15 through approximately May 17. Detours will be in effect throughout construction. Motorists can access downtown Pentwater via the north Pentwater exit from US 31, which will take them to Monroe Road west of Longbridge. Motorists can access east of Monroe and the south side of Longbridge via the Monroe Road exit at US 31 and following the detour signs. Local traffic for homeowners living within the road closure will still have access to these roads.

“We are committed to keeping the entire community informed throughout the construction process. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we safely complete this project. At DTE Energy, the safety of our employees, customers and neighbors is our top priority, and we monitor our natural gas system to ensure 24/7 safe, reliable service.”
