PENTWATER — The Pentwater Public School Board of Education will conduct first-round interviews of five candidates seeking the position of superintendent/principal Monday and Tuesday evening, April 15 and 16.
The new superintendent will replace Superintendent/Principal Scott Karaptian who is retiring.
Interviews Monday include:
- Engadine Consolidated Schools Superintendent Andrew Alvesteffer at 6:30 p.m.
- Pentwater Public Schools Assistant Principal Craig Barter at 7:30 p.m.
Interviews Tuesday include:
- Head of Hillsdale Preparatory School Annie Fowler at 5 p.m.
- Director of West Michigan Academy of the Arts and Academics Joanna “Joey” Bennick at 6 p.m.
- Assistant Superintendent/K-12 Principal for Nenana City (Alaska) School District Dave Huntington, 7 p.m.
Interviews will take place in the boardroom at Pentwater school and via Zoom video conferencing. Staff and community members are encouraged to attend. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback to the school board after each interview.

Second round interviews followed by a final decision are scheduled for the week of April 22. The new superintendent will begin duties July 1.
West Michigan Education Research and Development Foundation is conducting the superintendent search.
The salary range for the position is $105,000-$120,000.
