Larry Russell Hunt, 84, of Ocala, Florida, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2024. Larry was born January 22, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Norman R Hunt and Imogene (May) Hunt.

Larry graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis and went on to earn a degree in engineering at IUPUI. He worked as a mechanical engineer in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee with door hardware and fireproof locks. He was involved with many construction projects, including West Morris Street Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis. He made many friends at the Bible study at Community Bible Church in Ocala, Fla. Larry enjoyed all auto sports, gardening, outdoor living, stained glass, and spending time with his wife and family.

Larry is survived by: his wife, Avis; three children, Bryan (Elizabeth) Hunt, Bruce (Christen) Hunt, and Amy (Derek) McCullah; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Larry was also blessed with three stepchildren, Kevin, Renee, and Jim; 18 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy and Becky; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by: his son, Bradley; and step-daughter, Tanya.

Graveside services will be conducted at West Hesperia Cemetery on April 10, 2024, at 1 p.m.
