Sara Kathleen “Trinkie” (Hornsby) Avila, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, entered the kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in Muskegon, at the age of 46. She was born June 27, 1977, in Shelby, to Richard and Venus Hornsby.
Trinkie was known for her loving and protective nature, her independence, sense of humor, outspokenness, and most importantly her strength. She had a passion for spending time with her two granddaughters who meant the absolute world to her. She also loved to read murder mysteries, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and spoil her Chihuahua, Jack, who was attached at the hip 24/7.
Trinkie is survived by: her best friend and husband, Raymundo Avila; her daughters, Adrianna and Saylah Avila; mother, Venus Hornsby; father, Richard Hornsby; sisters, Rebecca (Christopher) Merrill and Ashley (Jesse) Perez; great-aunt, Pamela Hocker; and her granddaughters, Devony Avila-Willett and Alliannah Avila-Willett.
Trinkie was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Maxine Hamerick and Russ Hornsby as well as Gerry and Jack Flanery.
It was an honor and privilege to know Trinkie and her presence will be greatly missed. May she rest in the peace and comfort that she truly deserves.
In accordance with Sara’s wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
