Pistol stolen in break-n

OTTO TOWNSHIP — A Raven .25-caliber pistol valued at $350 was stolen during a break-in that was reported Monday, March 11, around 2:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of South 142nd Avenue, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

In a separate incident, a break-in was reported in the 3500 block of 164th Avenue Tuesday, March 12, around 9:40 a.m. involving the theft of a 2013 KTM 150 dirt bike valued at $4,000. The bike has been recovered. An 18-year-old Hesperia man is a suspect in the case, which has been turned over to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office, said Sheriff Mast.

Tuesday, March 12, 2024:

  • 1:36 a.m., a 30-year-old Bitely man wanted on multiple warrants in Newaygo County was arrested and also faces a charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police for refusing to comply with the deputy’s commands to exit the vehicle, Wesco convenience store parking lot, Division Street, Village of Hesperia. The deputy eventually had to break out the vehicle’s window to arrest the suspect, said Sheriff Mast.

Wednesday, March 13, 2024:

  • 4:15 p.m., larceny of a 2002 Pace American brand utility trailer valued at $1,500, 3800 block of North 104th Avenue, Hart Township.

Thursday, March 14, 2024:

  • 11:44 a.m., larceny of prescription drugs, 3400 block of North 72nd Avenue, Hart Township.
  • 3:45 p.m., larceny of a purse and its contents from a residence, 100 block of North Cook Street, Village of Hesperia.
