HART — Motivational speaker Brian Pruitt electrified the Hart Middle School gym with an energetic, inspirational and humorous speech Friday, Feb. 23.

An All-American running back at Central Michigan University, Pruitt was a college football teammate of Brandon Bruce, who is Hart Public Schools elementary principal. Pruitt also visited Spitler Elementary School and Hart High School, motivating students to make good choices in life. He is scheduled to speak to the community Friday at 6 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Pruitt focused on a simple, yet inspiring motto: “Good choice, good day; bad choice, bad day.” He detailed the difficulties he encountered in his family life growing up, but thanks to the help of a teacher and coach, he became successful.

“Life is all about choices,” he said. “Decisions determine destiny. You get to choose who you want to be. Don’t let anything stop you from going after the things you want in life.”

Pruitt has traveled the country for nearly three decades speaking, training and coaching. He has worked with major sports organizations and companies all over the United States.
