Interim village administrator likely to be hired in Shelby

Shelby village administrator accepts Spring Lake job

By Allison Scarbrough, News Editor

SHELBY — The Shelby Village Council accepted Village Administrator Brady Selner’s letter of resignation during a regular meeting this week, and it is anticipated that the village will hire an interim administrator until a permanent replacement is found.

Selner, 30, has accepted a job as the Spring Lake village manager

“It is anticipated that an interim village administrator will be considered at the Feb. 26 meeting,” said Selner. “Once an interim is hired, (he or she) will assist in the search process.

“I’m going to wrap up what I’m able to, but have things organized and ready for the next administrator to hit the ground running and continue all the positive progress that has occurred,” said Selner previously. “It’s been a challenge, and it’s been rewarding. There have been a lot of positive things that have happened over the last three years, and there are many, many exciting things to come.”

The Spring Lake Village Council voted to approve Selner’s contract Monday, Feb. 12. His last day in Shelby will be March 13, and he begins duties in the Village of Spring Lake March 18.
