Hart man sentenced to prison for CSC

HART — A 33-year-old Hart man was sentenced in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court, Jan. 29, to three to 15 years in prison for a conviction of second-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC).

Ricardo Moreno Barrios, of 2 W. Main St., sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl, according to Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. The offenses occurred within a time frame of 2020-2023 in Hart.

Barrios is subject to lifetime sex offender registration and electronic monitoring, said Bizon. “The resolution was reached with the input and consent of the victim through her mother.”

He pleaded guilty to the charge, Dec. 20, 2023. Three counts of first-degree CSC, which carry a maximum term of life in prison, were dismissed.

He received credit for 213 days served in jail.
