Vintage snowmobiles gather at fairgrounds for Winterfest

HART — There may not be much snow on the ground, but there are plenty of snowmobiles at the Oceana County Fairgrounds.

Vintage snowmobile enthusiasts gathered at the fairgrounds Saturday, Feb. 3, for Hart Winterfest. 

This year’s featured snowmobile is Mercury, but all brands are welcome to join, said event organizer Kevin Hallack. Trophies are awarded in different vintage categories: 1969 and older; 1970-1974; 1975-1979; 1980-1989; and 1990-2000. A panel of judges votes in each category, and the public votes for the people’s choice award. 

The vintage snowmobile show also includes a swap meet for buying, selling and trading snowmobile parts.

Other Winterfest activities include: a Soup Walk involving Hart businesses; The Frozen Tin Man Winter Golf Outing;  and a Broom Ball Tournament with the finals game set for Sunday, Feb. 4, from 6-8 p.m. in the parking lot next to La Probadita.
