Winter weather advisory in effect until 5 p.m. Saturday
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Oceana and Mason counties that is in effect until 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.
Snow accumulations of 3-5 inches are predicted.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” states NWS. “The hazardous conditions could impact the (Friday) evening commute. Lake effect snow can bring highly variable conditions over short distances. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
Both counties are included in a hazardous weather outlook that encompasses a larger area.
“Lake effect snow will develop tonight. Some heavier snow bands with accumulating snow are possible towards the lakeshore. Heavier snow bands will continue into Saturday along the lakeshore. A wintry mix of precipitation is possible Monday and Monday night.”
