Winter weather advisory extended until 4 p.m. Monday
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids extended a winter weather advisory for Oceana County until 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15.
The advisory was originally set to expire at noon Sunday, Jan. 14.
Expect lake effect snow accumulations of 2-6 inches.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” states NWS. “Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
A “hazardous weather outlook” impacts west Michigan with “heavy lake effect snow, blowing and drifting snow, and low visibilities. Arctic air will result in wind chills in the -10 to -20 degree range Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings.”
Lake effect snow showers are likely throughout most of the week. “Additional accumulating snow and travel impacts are possible, especially along the lakeshore.”
