Oceana County under winter storm watch

5-9 inches of snow possible

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a winter storm watch for Oceana County beginning late Monday night, Jan. 8, through Wednesday morning, Jan. 10.

Other counties included in the watch are: Mason, Newaygo, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Mecosta and Isabella-

NWS issued the watch at 3:25 a.m. Monday.

Heavy snow is possible with total snow accumulations of 5-9 inches. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. “Accumulating snow after midnight will create hazardous travel conditions,” states NWS.
