HART — The following proceedings recently took place in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:

Arraignments

Felonies

Martinez-Ortega

Oscar Martin Martinez-Ortega, 43, of 58 Chapita Hills, Shelby; breaking and entering of a building and malicious destruction of property $1,000-$20,000. Preliminary exam: Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

Lopez-Vasquez

Kevin Adan Lopez-Vasquez, 24, of 6093 N. Maple Island Rd., Hesperia; two counts of felonious assault. Preliminary exam: Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $10,000/cash/surety/10 percent.

Russell Kevin Dutton, 29, of 103 W. John St., Mesick, Michigan; fleeing and eluding police. Preliminary exam: Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

Avery Jewel West, 23, of 418 Union St., Hart; a felony of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and a misdemeanor of domestic violence. Preliminary exam: Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. (Mugshot and bail amount unavailable.)

Candice Lee Fennel, 27, of 6441 E. Fillmore Rd., Hesperia; methamphetamine possession. Preliminary exam: Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. (Bail amount unavailable.)

Misdemeanor

Roy Daniel Bolan III, 23, of 5525 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville; operating while intoxicated. Pretrial conference: Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. Bail: $100.

Dutton

Sentencings

Donald Paul Adams, 59, of 1465 E. Mill Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty April 26, 2023 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced Jan. 2, 2024 to 27 days suspended jail with credit for 27 days served. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

Ellis Michael Montgomery, 48, of 250 N. 144th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty Jan. 2, 2024 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. One count of failure to stop for a property damage accident was dismissed.
